About that work, just to recap for ya...I left Los Angeles, flew to Toronto and landed in Munich Germany to meet up with Young!Tanzsommer where I serve on the staff as the Jazz/Hip Hop Teacher, Finale Choreographer, Youth Outreach Director, Flash Mob Director/Choreographer and all around gopher (as in "go fer" this and "go fer" that, lol). Being a part of this wonderful staff, we all wear many hats. Follow along on my Facebook page, lots of cool pics! We bring dance studios & teams on a performance tour of Europe, where in between their shows they take Master classes from me and other Master Teachers. All the while, juggling tours, sightseeing, eating gelato!, and all around awesomeness.
I landed in Munich, then by bus we drove to Lienz Austria, where we spent a few days that was capped off by an outdoor performance by our "Stars of Tomorrow" (as they are properly billed). Some of the locals performed as well, and its amazing to see the levels of progress they are making in the world of dance and performance. All around great time had by all...
The rest of the group then left Lienz early and drove to Venice Italy! And if you've never visited Venice, understand that there are NO roads, lol. You must reach Venice by a vaporetto (water taxi!) because all of the "streets" are water filled canals. Simply stunning! *sad face* As I said, the rest of the group visited Venice, I was driven into Innsbruck Austria to conduct the 1st rehearsal for our 2nd annual Flash Mob (check out a clip of last years!) This year we are mobbing the train station and I'll be Directing & Choreographing about 250+ dancers! Sahweet!!
Today is our "Stars of Tomorrow" Gala in the Dogana Hall...which is the main theater in Innsbruck and home of the Tanzsommer Festival that happens every year. We are honored to be guests and I'm honored to have served on their teaching faculty in years past (see pic below). I'm going to enjoy a run through the mountains, light and tech our finale, then get ready for our wonderful show.
Remember to stop what you're doing today for just a moment, look around you, and find at least 3 things to be grateful for...I guarantee you'll find more <3
